Dr. Cal's Comments on Wellness

"Health and Wellness" is a choice that one must personally make if he/she would be healthy. The philosophy that believes the body God gave to each person is a better physician and healer of that body than any medical doctor, regardless of his/her specialty, makes personal responsibility for health and wellness paramount. Since the body was not conceived or constructed in a laboratory, but supernaturally created by God, natural quality foods and food supplements and not chemicals are necessary for it to attain and maintain optimum health.

When crisis and/or life  and death situations occur, there is a real need and place for emergency medical attention and care. If health and wellness are desired, and no real crisis exists, the body must be allowed to heal itself and/or maintain wellness. To rely upon nutrients or food supplements in a crisis situation is as ignorant and ridiculous as the use of crisis methodology in matters of health and wellness. Both have their place and should be applied rationally, intelligently and honestly when indicated.

There is another area of life that requires proper application of the appropriate remedy and that is the area of one’s eternal destiny. Religion, good works and/or personal righteousness can never provide that which a Holy God requires to satisfy His justice for man’s sin against Him. For man to rely on such with the expectations of God’s forgiveness, eternal life and heaven would be eternally tragic and damning.

God has provided a perfect substitute for the payment of man’s sin, no matter how terrible and wicked it might be. Your personal faith in God’s perfect, eternal substitute, Jesus Christ and the finished work that he did on Calvary is the only remedy He will accept. (John 14:6, John 3:18)

How does one make sure they are prepared to meet a Holy God and be eternally saved?

Right now, right where you are:

  1. Admit that you are a sinner by God’s standards (Romans 3:23)
  2. Realize that God has placed an eternal penalty on sin. (Romans 6:23, Revelation 20:15)
  3. Understand that Jesus Christ, God’s perfect substitute for sin, paid the price in full for all sin when He died on the cross, that He was buried, rose from the dead and took a perfect record back to heaven with Him (Romans 5:8, Hebrews 1:3, I Corinthians 15:3-4)
  4. By faith accept Him, Jesus Christ, and Him alone as your Savior and hope for heaven (Romans 10:9-10, 10:13, Hebrews 7:25, Ephesians 2:8-10).

If you have made the life-changing decision to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, the following salvation prayer is for you. This prayer is not a ritual based on specific words, but merely a guideline for your sincere step of faith.

Salvation Prayer - Merely a Tool to Communicate Our Faith

"Dear God, I confess that I am a sinner and need to be eternally saved.  I believe that you, dear Jesus are that Saviour, that you died on the cross to pay for that sin, was buried and rose from the dead.  Lord, please forgive my sin, come into my heart and life, and save my soul.  I now receive Jesus Christ as my Saviour and hope for heaven.  Amen."

If you decided to repent of your sins and receive Christ today, welcome to God's family. Now, as a way to grow closer to Him, the Bible tells us to follow up on our commitment.

  • Get baptized as commanded by Christ.
  • Tell someone else about your new faith in Christ.
  • Spend time with God each day. It does not have to be a long period of time. Just develop the daily habit of praying to Him and reading His Word. Ask God to increase your faith and your understanding of the Bible.
  • Seek fellowship with other followers of Jesus. Develop a group of believing friends to answer your questions and support you.
  • Find a local church where you can worship God.
