Natural ZZZs 12, 10-Ct Blister Packs ~
Over 300 prescription and OTC drugs are known to sometimes interfere with normal rest. Intermittent wakefulness, difficulty falling or remaining asleep, or waking too early are all signs the body is having difficulty managing stress.
Natural ZZZs addresses these issues with natural ingredients without the side effects often associated with other regimens.
Why These Natural Ingredients?
Valerian Root
Long known for its effect on anxiety and nervousness-related sleeplessness, Valerian Root acts to promote smooth muscle relaxation due to increased GABA concentrations in the nerve endings. In one study of people with sleep difficulties, a Valerian preparation was shown to be as effective as benzodiazepines with none of the drug’s negative side effects (daytime sleepiness, diminished concentration, impairment of physical performance). Standardized to contain 0.8% Valerenic Acids, our Valerian Root is manufactured in Spain and complies with all European Monographs as well as the new USP monograph.
Jujube Seed
Used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Jujube has been scientifically shown to be an effective sleep aid, as well as promoting increased total sleep time in animal studies.
Passionflower
The dried flowering and fruiting tops of Passionflower are used in traditional herbal preparations for nervousness and difficulty sleeping. The flavonoid properties of Passionflower activate GABA receptors providing anxiolytic and sleep promoting values. During the early twentieth century, Passionflower was popular as a sedative and calmative herb and was included in the United States National Formulary. Approved by the German Commission E, Passionflower is used extensively in Europe.
L-Theanine
Recognized as an important component of a successful relaxation formula, Theanine promotes rest while helping to reduce stress. Found in green and black teas, Theanine has been shown to have a calmative effect in the brain. More recent studies have shown Theanine has a counterbalancing effect on caffeine in the body.
